Avril/Introduction

Frederick Schauer was a young archeologist on his first major dig in Egypt when he met the daughter of one of the workers on the site and fell in love. Unfortunately, when his dig ended he had to leave, but promised Natiri that he would come back for her, only to receive news from her family before he could return that she had died in an accident. Unbeknownst to her father, Natiri lived on and had a child. Avril spent the first years of her childhood in the slums of Cairo, first with her mother's family and then later as an orphan being taken care of by others. When she was 9 years old, her father returned to Egypt and by dint of sheer luck, or the fates, or something else, he found Avril and she was returned to him. Avril spent the next decade traveling with her father on his digs around the world and his stints teaching in various universities. She was independently schooled by her father (and no end of other professors and archeologists and the like) until at 17 her father took a longer term stint teaching at Cambridge. Avril took the opportunity to finish her BA there in Archives and Record Management. Now her father is back on the road, and Avril is finally on her own in another big city, this time under somewhat less hardship as she takes her Master's courses and works an internship at one of London's small, eccentric museums.
