Luke/Introduction

Seen Through the Mists...

The Thane is a large Troll who stands more than eight foot tall. He has a heavily-muscled build that makes his raw strength immediately obvious and yet the athletic hunk moves with surprising grace and control. There is often a sense of barely-restrained energy in his look, as if he might spring into action at any moment and is just itching for a reason to do so.

The Troll's skin in a dusky shade of blue he looks out at the world through icy-blue eyes. A large pair of curved horns, ridged and almost-black, sprout from the sides of his forehead with their sharp tips pointing forward like those of a ram. The Seelie’s dark brown hair is cropped short and there are hints of scrawny stubble along his jawline.

To Unenchanted Eyes...

Luke is simply a very tall and athletic-looking man, who might easily be mistaken for a bouncer. He stands around six foot six, with an athletic and muscular build that looks like it probably weighs at least 19 stone (270lb). Despite his size, Luke carries himself with surprising grace and his movements are never careless or clumsy. He shares a flat in Woolwich and works multiple jobs in the gig economy. The man is enthusiastically sporty, but mostly unremarkable except for his physicality.

About the Thane...

The Welshman only experienced his Chrysalis in his late-20s, erupting onto the scene from a life of previous obscurity. Luke emerged from his Dream Dance, during which he faced a remarkable array of foes, with a perceived debt to the Snowfall Countess to whom he subsequently swore fealty. The last four years have seen the Thane flourish, establishing a favorable reputation on both sides of the river under the guidance of the late ‘Wolfhound’ – a Clurichaun Knight who fostered Luke before they became stalwart companions.

Sir Aelfweard is a paragon of honour and martial prowess, always willing to risk his life to protect those he considers to be under his care (which often seems to extend to all the people of the Kingdom of Roses.) The Thane’s demesne is in Woolwich, where he watches over some of the most impoverished and vulnerable parts of London.

The Snowfall Countess gives Luke a relatively free hand to find and deal with threats to her County and the Kingdom, trusting his oaths to guide him in the discharge of his duties. The Monster Hunter has a reputation as a slayer of dangerous Chimera and frequently trades the harvests of his hunts with merchants across the Duchy.

Despite that, the Thane is perhaps best known currently for his increasingly important role in the Fallen Castle’s hurling team. At the first Tower Bridge Chalice of 2025, he was the star player amidst a fairly dismal team performance. Many commoners and nobles now view him as a crucial part of the Castle’s hopes of ending their long losing streak. Those who have spoken to him about the topic know that he has several mysterious ‘plans’ to achieve just that.

The Knight's Retinue...

Charlie, a half-Selkie, is an athletic and butch lesbian who now works at a local library. She studied English Literature at the University of Greenwich and still plays rugby for a local non-professional team, where she is a rather feisty Winger. Caring and compassionate, except when those she cares for are wronged, her Seal's Beauty birthright ensures she is popular with the ladies - but she shows little interest in settling down into a serious relationship. The Kinain has been part of the County of the Fallen Castle since birth and is known by many of its Commoners.
