Jacqueline/Introduction
Jacqueline “Jack" Silva was raised in the vibrant streets of São Paulo, born the only child in a small family turned upside down by a father with a penchant for yelling, drinking, gambling, and whoring. Those predilections split the family up, and Jack's mother whisked her child away to London to start over. When Jack's mother passed away from an aggressive lung cancer when Jack was only sixteen, she turned to crime to make ends meet, slowly working up from a petty theft ring to organizing her own jobs, and eventually to being a broker between those who did the stealing and those who did the buying.
Now, Jack is a savvy operator in the shadowy underbelly of London and a fence who specializes in stolen art, priceless artifacts, and high-end contraband. With contacts scattered amongst both thieves and the upper crust types who are eager to get their hands on unique relics no matter where they're from, she possesses a sharp wit, a disarming charm, and a discerning business sense, and has carved out a niche where precision, subtlety, and discretion are paramount.
As she has increasingly become more involved in the high-end art world, including interfacing with museums, galleries, and well-to-do auction houses, she's done an admirable job of keeping her criminal fence work sequestered from the rest of her life. Of course, it's not the only secret she keeps.
