Dragana

Introduction[ edit ]

Dragana was born in Serbia just after the breakup of former Yugoslavia and the region's descent into years of eastern European infighting. After fleeing the war zone and a separatist father who wanted to put her into the thick of it, she picked up freelance work as an armed escort for government agencies and academic teams, securing and protecting archaeological and ancient historic sites. She's traveled throughout eastern Europe, the Mediterranean and extreme climes as far north as Kamchatka and as dangerous as El Chaltén. Eventually, she landed on a niche as an expensive high-end adventure tourism guide, then found a more stable professional specialty as a government and academic site team 'escort' up and down South America. After recuperating from two particularly serious incidents, she's discovered a new life which has now brought her to London.

Academia and Archaeology : Sometimes tapped for site work by government agencies, tourism boards, UNESCO and academic research teams for .. this and that. She's an archaeology grad student at University College London, where she also tutors Serbian in the department of Slavic and East European Studies. She could also teach Spanish except that accent of hers is pretty hopeless.

Adventure Tourism : Climbing is her first love, but trekking, rafting, rock climbing, caving, wreck diving, crazy high-altitude mountaineering, you name it. Wherever falls outside your comfort zone, Dragana is happy to take you there and get you back safely. For a price, if you're a tourist.

Exploring Things -- Otherwise known as climbing things, opening doors and -- if she's lucky -- falling down holes. Dragana is one of life's own adventurers; there's no closet too small, no cavern too vast. She has an occasionally reckless curiosity, and the sheer number of amazing things she's found by simply falling through a rotten floor might surprise you.

Life is Amazing -- And it's also grim, so enjoy it while you have it. Dragana is a bright soul and physicality is an act of gratitude whether it's dancing, yoga, clubbing, drinking, playing, or eating all the things. She's also a decent shot, you might want her on your paintball team.

Socially-Minded -- Dragana's got her own ideas about charity and social responsibility. She's just as likely to be on the volunteer committees for the Magnificent Seven as she is visiting the elderly or feeding the women, children and dogs on the streets of London.

Spirits -- Everything from Aquavit to Zuijin; the right kinds of spirits just love on Dragana. Sin-eating isn't a well-paying job but someone's gotta do it.
